A change in the way school board members in the Poway Unified School District are elected has been submitted for approval to the San Diego County Board of Education. This change would affect the way residents of the district are represented on the school district’s governing board for years to come. Under the new election system, the district would be divided into five geographic areas, and one board member living in each area would be elected by the voters who live in that area.
The County Board of Education is seeking input from the community on the proposed change in the district’s election system and the proposed boundaries of trustee areas.
Members of the public will have the opportunity to express their views at a public hearing:
