Description: This session focuses on the role that formative assessment plays in developing self-regulated learners. With a shift in standards and expectations, learning and assessing must change to ensure that students are able to reach high expectations. While formative assessment is not a new concept, there is an ever-growing body of research and evidence that supports the importance of formative assessment as a critical component of the teaching and learning process and is vital in developing student agency and self-regulation.
