Everyone A Reader is a volunteer tutor program that matches trained tutors with struggling readers in the first, second, and third grades.
Volunteers work one-to-one with students using research-informed instructional methods to help the children reach their grade-level in reading.
Once trained, volunteers are placed at a school near their work or home and are met by the site coordinator who helps them get started by going over school procedures and policies. The coordinator continues to support the volunteer throughout their time at the school.
Volunteers are requested to work with their students approximately one hour per week for at least six months.
Additional information is provided during the training or by calling 800-711-7323.

Tutors say:
“It is 95% fun and 5% work!”
“It’s amazing to see the students build their reading skills and all of a sudden take off as confident readers.”
“I’m happy to help support my community school by working one-to-one with students in their classroom; the Everyone A Reader program is so well organized it makes it easy.”
