School Accountability Report Card (SARC)
District/Site Requirements For ALL Schools

Every California public school is required to annually provide information in the School Accountability Report Card (SARC) about itself to the community allowing the public to evaluate and compare schools for student achievement, environment, resources and demographics.  Three additional reporting requirements in the areas of Curriculum and Instructional Materials, School Facilities, and Teachers were added as a result of the Williams Settlement Legislation.

Curriculum and Instructional Materials:
Displays information about the quality, currency, and availability of instructional materials in the core curriculum areas at the school, including the use of supplemental or non-adopted instructional materials. Information provided must include:

  • Reading/Language Arts (including ELD)
  • Mathematics
  • History/Social Science
  • Foreign Language
  • Health
  • Visual and Performing Arts
  • Science Laboratory Equipment (grades 9-12)
  • Percent of pupils who lack instructional materials for each area listed above

School Facilities:
Displays the school facility’s good repair status determined pursuant to the Facility Inspection Tool (FIT).  Results should be from either the most recent 100% school site inspection or SDCOE Williams facility audit and must include:

  • Facility repair status as “good,” “fair,” or “poor” in 15 areas
  • Site’s overall condition as “exemplary,” “good,” “fair,” or “poor”
  • Date the inspection was completed

Teachers:
Displays the number of teacher misassignments including misassignments of English Learner teachers and number of vacant teacher positions for most recent three-year period. Information must include:

  • Number of misassignments of teacher of English Learners
  • Vacancies not filled by 20th day
  • Data must match the audit completed by SDCOE for Williams visit schools
