ITV Offering Standards-Aligned Television Programming
For Students and Parents to Use When Schools Closed
ITV Ch. 16 is airing instructional programming for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Programs will be geared to specific subjects each day, with the rigor keyed to grade-level standards.
Tuesday’s ITV programming focus is language arts and includes English Composition for high school students at 1:00 p.m., In Search of the Novel, also for high school students at 1:30, News Writing at 2:30 and English Grammar at 3:00.
Wednesday’s focus is science. Programs include: Motion Force and Energy at 8:30 a.m. for grades 6-8; Biomes at 8:50 a.m. for grades 6-8; Inventing Flight at 9:10 a.m. for grades 6-8; Shamu TV at 9:30 a.m. for grades K-5; Destination Tomorrow from NASA, a 10:00 a.m., for grades 6-8); Tomorrow Today from Europe at 10:30 a.m,; Unseen Life on Earth (micro biology) for grades 9-12 at 11:00 a.m.
Thursday’s focus is math. Programs include: Basic Math (8:30 a.m., grades 6-8), NASA Connect (9:00 a.m., grades 6-8), Pre-algebra (9:30 a.m., grades 6-8), Learning Math Patterns (10:00 a.m., professional development), Geometry (10:30 a.m., grades 6-8).
During the after-school hours, students can watch instructional grammar, math and science programs beginning at at 3:00 p.m.
