Give Your Input on Local Control Funding Formula

The State Board of Education (SBE) and California Department of Education (CDE) invite all interested stakeholders to come and share their input and ideas to inform implementation of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). Sessions are scheduled in locations throughout the state, including an August 8 date in San Diego. Staff from the SBE will be present at the primary locations with remote locations connected via video conference with an onsite facilitator to help direct comments between locations.

The San Diego County Office of Education will host a remote location on August 8 in the Joe Rindone Regional Technology Center, Communications Lab 1-4, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

Please note that comments will be limited to two minutes. Persons wishing to make comments will sign-in at each site so comments can be grouped in the following areas: (1) LCFF Budget and Funding Use, (2) Local Control and Accountability Plans, and (3) Transparency and Community Involvement.

In addition to that session, an online video stream of the August 12 session will be available. Please allow several minutes in advance of the start time to connect to the website for viewing the live stream. Those planning to view the web-based stream should test in advance to determine whether their computers or mobile devices are ready to accept the streamed content. You may perform this test by going to the link and choosing the appropriate option for the software you are using. If the test works, your device is up-to-date and ready for August 12.

Comments, concerns, and suggestions may also be emailed to lcff@wested.org. Comments received before noon on August 13 will be included in the official record for the regional LCFF input sessions.
