Public Forum to Address Science Framework for California Public Schools

In response to state legislation, the California Department of Education (CDE) is seeking input from a broad range of stakeholders on Science Framework for California Public Schools, Kindergarten through Grade Twelve.

CDE staff will be holding a regional public meeting on Thursday, Jan. 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. The meeting will take place at the San Diego County Office of Education located at 6401 Linda Vista Road in San Diego in the JRRTC Comm Labs (Room 202).

The purpose of the meeting is to receive input from a focus group of educators and to accept comments from members of the public on the revision of the Science Framework for California Public Schools, Kindergarten through Grade Twelve. All interested staff, parents, and community members are invited to provide input as well as hear suggestions from others.

The California Code of Regulations, Title 5, Section 9511(c), calls for the California Department of Education to convene at least four public focus groups of educators in different regions of California to provide comment on the revision of the Science Framework for California Public Schools.
