Be a classroom hero and help us Stuff the Bus with school supplies for students across the region. The San Diego the San Diego County Office of Education has partnered with San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU) and Channel 93.3 to collect much-needed back-to-school supplies for local students.
Through Aug. 21, the SDCCU School Bus will be on tour with Channel 93.3. The community is encouraged to drop off supplies at any one of SDCCU's 38 convenient locations.
"Through SDCCU Classroom Heroes, our organization is proud to support many programs that enhance the lives of teachers and students," said SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Halleck. "SDCCU wanted to further its support of local schools by providing students with basic supplies to help better prepare them to succeed in the classroom. SDCCU Stuff the Bus is a great way to bring the entire community together to help make a big difference in the lives of our future generations."
The San Diego County Office of Education has identified several districts and schools throughout the county where there is an additional need for supplies, such as new pencils, pens, notebooks, calculators, and paperclips. The supplies donated to SDCCU Stuff the Bus will be given directly to districts to divide among schools.
The SDCCU school bus will be parked at Westfield Mission Valley Mall on Aug. 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for Cox Communication's annual Back to School event, which features a variety of vendors positioned to help parents and children prepare for the upcoming school year.
