Three Distinguished Superintendents Provide Opening Keynote at Inaugural eLearning Event

Computer-Using Educators (CUE) Inc. and the California Learning Resource Network (CLRN) are proud to announce that four distinguished superintendents, all online and blending innovators, will be part of an opening keynote panel at the eLearning Strategies Symposium to take place December 7-8, 2012 in Costa Mesa, California. Early-bird registration, just $159, closes October 24.

Dr. Rick Miller, Superintendent at the Riverside Unified School District; Dr. Randy Ward, San Diego County Superintendent of Schools; and Dr. Theresa Rouse, superintendent of King City Union School District will participate in a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Kelly Schwirzke, Director of Online Learning at the Santa Cruz County Office of Education.

These three educational leaders and online learning innovators will address the catalysts that moved their districts into online and blended learning, how they prepared their teachers for online and blended instruction, the challenges they faced and how they overcame them, the key components of setting up an online or blended program, the valuable lessons they learned, and what they would do differently in the future.

The symposium, which opens Friday, December 7, 2012, includes a wide variety online and blended sessions focused on big picture issues, content, professional development, tools and technologies, and pedagogy. Discovery’s Hall Davidson our plenary speaker, will present just prior to Susan Patrick’s closing keynote on Saturday. Registration is quickly filling up.

“We’re pleased to have a set of distinguished superintendents participating in our opening keynote,” said CUE Executive Director Mike Lawrence. “Their innovative practices, leadership, and support for online and blended learning offer valuable lessons for all schools.”
