SB70 funds a series of state categorical programs designed to further develop and strengthen CTE across the state in school districts and county offices of education, community colleges, and private-sector business partners.
SB70 has projected funding for six years, 2006-07 through 2011-12. Specifically, funding in 2006-07 was $20 million increasing to $42 million in 2007-08 (originally planned to be $52 million). SB70 funding is planned to increase to $56 million per year through 2013-14. However, this funding level is currently being revised. All funding is subject to year-to-year budget negotiations.
SB70 funding is administered throught the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office.
