For Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and California State Preschool Program (CSPP) Teachers
The California Transitional Kindergarten Stipend Initiative (CTKS) program is administered by the Local Planning Council and provides "Education Incentives" to teachers who are interested in completing coursework or professional development in Early Childhood Education/Child Development. Education incentives provide reimbursement for tuition costs for ECE/CDEV coursework, professional development registration costs, and books. Click here for background and further program overview.
- Priority 1 — All current and potential TK teachers, who are currently employed at a school district in San Diego County and are appropriately credentialed.
- Priority 2 — California State Preschool Program (CSPP) teachers and teacher assistants who are currently employed in a CSPP classroom in San Diego County.
Must be continuously employed at the time of application through the time of coursework completion, for a minimum of 15 hours per week and nine months of the year.
For TK or potential TK teachers, must be employed as the classroom teacher in an elementary classroom and hold a current and valid teaching credential that authorizes teaching in a TK class.
For CSPP teachers, must be the teacher or assistant assigned to a CSPP-funded classroom and working directly with children. Individuals must have an Associate Teacher or Teacher Permit (or higher).
Substitute teachers are not eligible.
