Outdoor Education connects students to science and nature through our 6th Grade Camp and Outreach Programs. Our Outdoor School program at Camp Cuyamaca serves approximately 12,000 students each year. We currently operate a 5th Grade Desert Camping Program in partnership with the Anza Borrego Institute. Our Outreach Programs serve more than 56,000 students each year. Public agencies and private donors support some of our outreach programs through sponsorships, grants, and donations. These outreach programs include Splash Science Mobile Lab, Green Machine, Marine Science Floating Lab, and Recycling Education.
To provide students with experiential learning programs that enhance awareness and scientific understanding of the natural world and their connection to it while building self-reliance, teamwork, and a sense of social responsibility.
