Learning Starts at Home

Foster Youth Services offers the Learning Starts at Home curriculum which provides information regarding, laws related to education of students in foster care, special education, and how to ensure student success at school by supporting the student from home first.

Learning Starts at Home curriculum may be offered in conjunction with the Group Home Training through Grossmont College Regional Occupational Program (ROP) at a Group Home site on an as needed basis for care providers of residential group homes for children up to 18 years old.  Training is designed to meet the 24-hour training requirements for residential staff.  For providers interested in receiving credits, please contact the Grossmont ROP office, 619-644-7550.
