Celebrating "AmeriCorps Week" with PASS
AmeriCorps Week 2017 (March 4-11) was dedicated to celebrating the 80,000 Americans currently serving their communities through AmeriCorps programs, as well as the more than one million AmeriCorps alumni who have already completed a term of national service. Individuals, programs, and organizations all over the US held events, proclamations, editorials, and awareness campaigns to highlight the contributions and impact of AmeriCorps.
For AmeriCorps Week in our schools, students reflected on the significance of national service, discussed the impact made by mentors in their lives, and researched opportunities. At some schools, our Members and their students raised awareness of AmeriCorps and National Service through posters, tabling, announcements, campaign buttons, stickers, and presentations.
Within our program, PASS honored our Members by holding a Day of Celebration with teambuilding activities focused on giving thanks, and a catered lunch. Our Members transplanted a succulent to take home as a small token of our gratitude. Thank you to our PASS AmeriCorps Members for their dedication and service to our students, schools, and their communities!
