Proposed establishment/rearrangement/adjustment of trustee area boundaries in the San Dieguito Union High School District by the San Diego County Board of Education, acting as the San Diego County Committee on School District Organization

The San Diego County Board of Education, acting as the County Committee on School District Organization, invites members of the San Dieguito Union High School District (SDUHSD) community to share feedback on draft maps of trustee area boundaries for SDUHSD.

The County Committee is exercising its authority under Education Code section 5019 and/or 5019.5 to develop a timely and qualified map for the district following the 2020 census. State law requires that trustee area boundaries be adjusted so that equal representation is maintained.

Your input is welcome and strongly encouraged.

How can I get involved? 

The County Committee held an initial public hearing on April 6 at the SDUHSD office. More than 75 community members attended, with more than 20 providing input on trustee area boundaries. Listen to an audio recording of the meeting.

At an April 13 public hearing, an independent demographer presented potential trustee area maps that comply with the California Voting Rights Act and the California Education Code. View the presentation. View the meeting video.

The April 20 public hearing was canceled for lack of quorum due to a medical emergency. The hearing was rescheduled to Monday, April 25, 2022 at 6 p.m. in the board room at the San Dieguito Union High School District office (710 Encinitas Blvd., Encinitas, CA 92024). View the public hearing notice. View the demographers' presentation.

At the April 25 public hearing, the board voted unanimously to adopt Map C.
