Message from the Principal

I am honored to welcome you to our dynamic school community that supports Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in San Diego's South County. As a longtime advocate of Deaf Education, I believe Davila Day School is a unique and wonderful place for your child to thrive. Supporting both spoken and signed languages, as well as family cultural backgrounds, Davila is an environment that is respectful and inclusive, honoring the diversity and strengths of each student.
As principal of Davila Day School, I bring over 30 years of experience as an interpreter, counselor, and administrator. I have worked in both mainstream metropolitan environments and state deaf schools. I believe in maximizing options and supports for whole-child social, emotional, academic, and identity development. I have seen the wide spectrum of resources and services available and believe that we maximize our options for San Diego County in the best interest of each child. We have a great team of audiologists, teachers, interpreters, and instructional assistants, as well as support from the South County SELPA, which makes our team comprehensive and effective. We are honored to be a part of your village. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, you are an important part of our team!
