County Board Seeks Student Representatives for 2026-27

County Board Seeks Student Representatives for 2026-27

Students in 10th and 11th grade from all public high schools in San Diego County are invited to submit an application to represent youth voice across our region as a member of the San Diego County Board of Education for 2026-27.

Online applications are being accepted now through Feb. 1 on the SDCOE Student Board Member webpage

In support of the San Diego County Board of Education’s goal of providing equitable opportunities for all students, the board is seeking applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Students with both traditional and non-traditional leadership experiences should be encouraged to apply.

“Our student board members provide the board and public their perspective and insights and are the voice for their fellow students,” said San Diego County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gloria E. Ciriza. “One of the best parts of our board meetings is hearing from our students about what’s working and what else we could be doing to ensure all students feel welcome and are prepared for success after high school.”

The Board of Education will select five students, one from each board region, who will each serve two months on the governing body. The Board of Education regular meeting is on the second Wednesday of every month and there are occasional special meetings as needed. Visit the Student Board Member webpage for details and to apply.
