Cuyamaca Outdoor School Open House

Join us for the opportunity to visit Cuyamaca Outdoor School and see what students experience during their week away at camp! San Diego's original 6th grade camp will host an open house on Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Each year at the beginning of the school year, parents, teachers, principals, students, alumni, and anyone interested in outdoor education are invited to spend a special day at SDCOE's beautiful outdoor school located within the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park and explore the program's facilities and features. Some activities to check out during your visit:

• Meet the staff
• Tour the campus
• Participate in hands-on science lessons 
• Meet the outdoor school nurse
• Purchase lunch, beverages, and snacks, or bring a lunch and eat with your family in our shady picnic area
• Create crafts
• Sing campfire songs
• Take a short hike

Since opening its doors 80 years ago, Cuyamaca Outdoor School has introduced generations of students to outdoor education and careers in conservation through hands-on learning, shared responsibility, and community building experiences that extend far beyond the classroom.
