Early Dismissals Jan. 22, Closures Jan. 23 for Several San Diego County Schools
The safety of students and school staff is of the utmost importance to San Diego County school districts. Storms across San Diego County impacted school schedules on Monday, Jan. 22.
- Schools in the Jamul-Dulzura School District closed early due to flooding.
- The Julian Union High School District cancelled after-school ASSETs activities due to flooding.
- The Warner Unified School District cancelled transportation for their afterschool program due to flash flood warnings and the potential for rock/mud slides on bus routes.
- The Monarch School dismissed students early due to a power outage.
- SDCOE Community Schools 37ECB, SOUL Academy, Bridges, and Escondido Community School dismissed students early.
- KIPP Adelante Preparatory Academy closed early due to severe flooding.
- America's Finest Charter School's TK-8 campus closed early due to a power outage.
Parents/caregivers are asked to pick up their students as soon as it's safe to do so based on local weather conditions/alerts. Schools are communicating directly with families and will provide assistance to any students who need it.
Impacts to school schedules for Tuesday, Jan. 23 are being assessed. SDCOE is maintaining a list of school closures and will share additional updates as they are available.
