Escondido and San Pasqual High Schools' Students Spread Holiday Cheer With Handmade Toys

Escondido and San Pasqual High Schools' Students Spread Holiday Cheer With Handmade Toys

Students from Escondido High School (EHS) and San Pasqual High School (SPHS) brought smiles and holiday joy to younger students by crafting and donating more than 200 handmade wooden toy cars and dinosaurs to children at Lincoln Elementary School and Farr Elementary School. This marks the fourth consecutive year the schools’ wood and construction students have partnered to give back to the community through this special holiday project.

On December 12, Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten students at Lincoln and Farr elementary schools received an early holiday surprise. EHS and SPHS students arrived wearing festive holiday accessories and brought along a special guest: Santa Claus. The playground quickly filled with excitement as children raced their new toy cars, played with their wooden dinosaurs, and interacted with the high school students who crafted the toys by hand.

Many children eagerly shared their holiday wishes with Santa, while others proudly showed off their new toys. The experience created meaningful connections across grade levels and highlighted the joy of giving during the holiday season.

“This is so much fun! Look at how happy they are,” shared an Escondido High School student.

The annual project reflects the strong sense of community within the Escondido Union High School District and provides students with an opportunity to apply their skills in a meaningful, real-world way. The district is proud of its students for their craftsmanship, generosity, and commitment to spreading holiday cheer.
