Getting to Know SDCOE: Kathy Bowman Administrative Assistant
Part of what makes Kathy Bowman an outstanding administrative assistant is her desire to grow, learn, and listen.
“She has strong people skills and has earned a reputation as someone who listens and respects others’ voices and opinions,” said Dr. Shannon Baker, senior director of curriculum and instruction. “She is a consummate professional.”
Bowman has been in her current role supporting the Curriculum and Instruction team for two years but has worked as an administrative assistant for seven. She eagerly jumps into any task that comes her way, Baker said.
She supports students and educators across the county by organizing training and networking opportunities, including large events and a regional grant. She also often works with employees from different divisions and departments.
“I am very blessed to be part of a department that works to include all employees in creating values and learning,” Bowman said.
