Getting to Know SDCOE: Martha Kelinske Early Intervention Assistant

martha kelinsky

Martha Kelinske’s classified job title is Early Intervention Assistant Infant/Toddler, but in the HOPE Infant Family Support Program she’s known as a “rainbow in a storm.”

When the pandemic started, Kelinske was eager to help families in the HOPE program who had  infants and toddlers with a variety of disabilities and who spoke Spanish or were bilingual.

Kelinske’s positive, approachable demeanor and can-do attitude make her a valued support to families and her colleagues, wrote nominators Renee Welch, senior manager, and Patricia Rodriguez, special education teacher.

Kelinske gives back with her time in other ways. She co-leads the HOPE program’s Toys for Tots annual event, which includes organizing the system to get families enrolled and shopping for needed toys. Additionally, she shares her knowledge and expertise as a participant on the Early Intervention Assistant Restructure Workgroup

Kelinske said she makes a point to offer grace to each person each day.

“We all could use a helping hand and kind words, especially on those hard days,” she said.
