Getting to Know SDCOE: Alex Brawner
While working quietly behind the scenes, Alex Brawner has had a huge impact on the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) since starting here as a teenager 19 years ago.
The television engineer has helped build the broadcast infrastructure for iTV Cable 16, has been instrumental in upgrades and maintenance of the communications labs at three SDCOE sites, and has supported a wide variety of events with his tech skills.
“Alex’s unmatched problem-solving talent and high level of expertise are complemented by his professionalism and get-it-done attitude,” said Andrea Durazo, who works with him. “When it comes to work performance, Alex exceeds every expectation.”
Colleagues rely on his expertise to help with adopting new technologies, recommendations for equipment purchases, maintenance of production and broadcast gear, and new software implementation.
Through his work operating iTV Cable 16 and support of events and video production, Brawner’s impact stretches beyond SDCOE to benefit students and the communities we serve.
“While Alex’s work is behind-the-scenes, his skills set the stage for SDCOE to shine,” Durazo said. “With an employee like Alex Brawner, it’s hard to quantify the impact of his work because he does so much.”
