Kim Garcia — Program Data Technician, Student Services and Programs
Kim Garcia is widely recognized as a leading expert in special education data management. As the program data technician for JCCS special education, she maintains flawless CALPADS reporting — earning zero fatal errors — and ensures accurate, compliant data across numerous systems.
Her nomination form noted that Garcia plays an integral role in supporting collaboration across JCCS, school districts, SELPA partners, and community agencies and her work directly supports SDCOE’s North Star goal.
Garcia ensures “active family and community engagement by partnering with families to create successful outcomes for students,” said colleagues of her impact on the team.
Her work directly supports legally required services for students with disabilities and smooth transitions between placements. Garcia’s precision, reliability, and calm expertise make her indispensable to educators and administrators serving some of the county’s most vulnerable students.

Fifteen students from 37ECB, South County Community School, and Monarch School participated in the San Diego County Office of Education's Culinary Pre-Apprenticeship Camp, a two-week program that provides hands-on cooking experiences, field trips, and opportunities to explore careers in the industry.
