Getting to Know SDCOE: Roberto Nava

Getting to Know SDCOE: Roberto Nava
Roberto Nava profile

Although it’s often behind the scenes, Roberto Nava plays a vital role in supporting career exploration labs and programs at the Linda Vista Innovation Center.

“His exceptional work ethic and dedication have earned him the respect of staff, students, and visitors alike,” said Assistant Superintendent Dr. Matthew Tessier, who nominated him. “With his optimism and professionalism, he fosters a welcoming and positive environment, always going above and beyond his assigned duties.”

The utility worker takes obvious pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-functioning site, Tessier added. On top of that, he helps ensure students get what they need and supports safety efforts at the site.

“His efficiency and responsiveness make him a trusted problem-solver, ensuring that any special needs or unexpected challenges are met with swift action,” Tessier said.

Nava has been with SDCOE for five years. His contributions since then are “immeasurable,” Tessier said.

“His steadfast commitment to the well-being of our students, staff, and campus does not go unnoticed by those who rely on his presence daily,” Tessier explained. “We are incredibly fortunate to have him as a guardian of our community, and his impact will always be deeply valued.”
