Getting to Know SDCOE: Sylvia Padilla Administrative Assistant

sylvia padilla

Sylvia Padilla is there when her team needs her, managing 10 budgets and helping to solve problems as they arise with professionalism and positivity.

The administrative assistant has been at SDCOE for more than 15 years, and now supports the Teacher Effectiveness and Preparation department.

Padilla is always there to help, whether it’s a member of her team, another SDCOE employee, or a client, said Dr. Sheiveh Jones, executive director of the Teacher Effectiveness and Preparation team. And she does it all with a positive, service-oriented attitude.

“She is truly indispensable at our office,” Jones said in her nomination letter. “Sylvia is the epitome of a team player. She happily offers support and thinks of her colleagues with a caring, helpful, and fair lens.”

Padilla tries to learn as much as possible to increase her support of others. She has also rallied her team to participate in various SDCOE events that they might not have otherwise.

“I have the pleasure of working with a diverse group of colleagues, and as their administrative assistant, I make sure that everyone in Teacher Effectiveness and Preparation has what is necessary and needed to be successful in their job and as a team,” Padilla said.
