Grant Available to Support Community Engagement
Local educational agencies have the opportunity to build and grow their community engagement efforts and receive an annual stipend through the statewide Community Engagement Initiative (CEI).
The Request for Applications (RFA) for the next cohort of the CEI has been released. The window to apply is open now through April 15.
The San Diego County Office of Education leads CEI 2.0 in partnership with the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence, the University of San Diego, and Eskolta School Research and Design.
The CEI initiative was established in 2019 as part of the California Statewide System of Support to build the capacity of communities and school districts to authentically engage with each other to improve outcomes for all students, particularly English learners, low-income students, foster youth, and students from other underserved groups.
There are 25 San Diego districts, charters, and our own County Office participating in Cohort 5. Joining CEI Cohort 6 will pave the way for systemic change and authentic community engagement in the California Statewide System of Support.
Explore the RFA and the California Engage webpage for a detailed overview of the initiative and the application steps. For additional information and support, please contact Senior Director Dr. Erin Mahoney, or District Advisors Dr. Brittany Mabe and Casey Lange.
