The safety of students and school staff is of the utmost importance to San Diego County school districts.
Due to power outages, schools in the following districts will be closed Jan. 9:
- Julian Union Elementary School District
- Julian Union High School District
- Mountain Empire Unified School District
- Warner Unified School District
Sullivan Middle School and Bonsall High School in Bonsall Unified School District and Pauma Elementary School in Valley Center-Pauma Unified School District are also closed Jan. 9, 2025.

Students from Montgomery Middle School turned their innovative ideas into digital reality at the Linda Vista Innovation Center’s first Global Challenges, Local Solutions App-a-Thon competition. The winning team went home with a trophy, bragging rights, and perhaps most importantly, the beginnings of a digital solution that might just change the world.

Navigating school spaces as an educator of color comes with unique challenges and experiences. SDCOE's Educator Pathways Community of Practice affinity group aims to give these educators a unique professional setting to meet, speak freely about the challenges they face, and reassure each other they are not alone.

The level of excitement at Davila Day School was about as big as Santa’s belly as they waited for their special visitor. And what made the visit even more special is that Santa used American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate — just like many of the Davila students.
