San Pasqual High School’s Robotics Team Wins Regional Competition, Advances to World Championship
San Pasqual High School’s FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) Team 3255 – SuperNURDS has achieved a major victory at the 2025 Hueneme Port Regional Competition, securing first place and earning the Innovation in Control Award.
This victory solidifies the SuperNURDS as one of the top robotics teams in the world. They are currently ranked #5 in California out of 291 teams, #9 in the United States out of 2,956 teams, and #14 worldwide out of 3,727 teams. Their outstanding performance has earned them a spot at the FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston, Texas, where they will compete against top teams across the globe from April 16-19, 2025.
The FIRST Robotics Competition challenges high school students to design, build, and program industrial-sized robots to compete in an exciting game-based engineering challenge. The competition not only fosters STEM skills but also encourages innovation, leadership, and collaboration.
The World Championship is the pinnacle of the FIRST Robotics season, bringing together the top 800 qualifying teams from around the world. Competing across eight divisions, the winners will advance for the ultimate title of FRC World Champion. Each team designs, manufactures, and builds its robot in just six weeks, making this event the grand finale.
SuperNURDS Head Coach, Tayler Uva, expressed pride in the team’s accomplishments, stating: “The work ethic of our students has been truly inspiring and their collaboration while building our robot was exceptional! We can’t wait to represent San Pasqual High School at the FIRST World Championship in Houston.”
The SuperNURDS continue to exemplify excellence in robotics and engineering, putting Escondido on the map as a powerhouse in STEM education.
