Last updated 10 a.m.
The safety of students and school staff is of the utmost importance to San Diego County school districts.
Due to high winds, the Spencer Valley School District will close today, Friday, Sept. 9, at 11:30 a.m., and no after-school activities will be held today. Julian Union High School and Julian Union Elementary School districts also announced they will follow their minimum day schedules today.
As previously announced, schools in the Mountain Empire Unified School District are closed today due to high winds – which make travel to and from school challenging, especially for high-profile vehicles such as school buses.
