Student Spotlight: Harmony
The Juvenile Court and Community Schools student representative on the San Diego County Board of Education for November was Harmony, a senior at San Pasqual Academy.
Harmony was selected by the San Pascual Academy staff for their leadership qualities and contributions to the school community.
Principal David Sosa shared that Harmony is “known for their open-mindedness and ability to lead by example, consistently demonstrating kindness, empathy, and a genuine passion for their values and activities. Harmony excels as a good listener and serves as a supportive friend and mentor,” he said.
During their time at San Pasqual Academy, Harmony presented at the quarterly Design Jam, participated in two internships with Outside the Lens, worked on the yearbook and school site council, all while working two jobs. They also helped create a mural in the lounge with school counselor Chris Toomey.
Sosa added that Harmony serves as a positive role model on campus, building positive relationships with teaches and peers, treating everyone with dignity, respect, and understanding.
Harmony’s advice to fellow students is to “try your best to not procrastinate, keep up with your work, and take breaks.”
After graduation, Harmony hopes to attend San Jose State University.
