The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) works regularly with school and media personnel to help get the word out about what’s happening in schools throughout the county.
County Office staff have contacts in local print, television, and radio news departments, and can help educators with strategies for working with the media.
Internally, SDCOE produces a variety of publications and documents to keep the more than 1,000 people working for the County Office of Education informed.
Another important aspect of SDCOE communications is to facilitate partnerships between schools and businesses. These include internships for students and teachers, principal-for-a-day activities, Adopt-A-School partnerships, sponsorships of school programs, student and staff recognition programs, scholarships, and academic incentive programs.
SDCOE recognition programs include the annual Salute to Teachers gala, where the county’s teachers of the year are announced, as well as efforts that shine a spotlight on deserving educators and students throughout the county. View the Celebrate School Stars section below to learn more about how SDCOE honors students and staff throughout the year.
Sign up for the SDCOE Community Quarterly, an eNewsletter that highlights the best of our local school stories four times each year.
