At the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE), our mission is to help boards of education identify and recruit the most qualified candidates to meet your specific requirements for the executive position. Leveraging our knowledge and connections within the field of education and professional organizations, we are uniquely positioned to assist you in this critical process.

As a search partner, SDCOE will facilitate a collaborative process: 

1. Consultation with the Governing Board: Identifying key leadership attributes desired in a new superintendent
2. Community Engagement: Developing and posting a community survey to gather input on desired characteristics
3. Educational Partner Input: Facilitating input sessions with staff, classified, certificated, and management representatives
4. Position Description and Recruitment: Creating comprehensive recruitment materials and advertising the position widely
5. Active Recruitment: Proactively seeking out and responding to qualified applicants
6. Screening and Recommendation: Chairing a screening committee to recommend top candidates for the board’s consideration
7. Reference Checks: Conducting thorough reference checks for selected candidates
8. Interview Facilitation: Scheduling and facilitating interviews with selected candidates
9. Contract Negotiation: Assisting in preparing and negotiating contract offers with the support of our legal counsel

Fee Schedule: 

The following fee schedule is based on the Local Education Agency’s Average Daily Attendance (ADA).

* Subject to mutual agreement per service contract
