​​Server virtualization consolidates your district's IT operations. This enables faster deployment of new servers and easier management of server resources. Other benefits include, reducing the physical IT footprint and lowering energy consumption.  

SDCOE provides server virtualization consulting. We are experienced in Hyper-V running on Windows Server 2019, 2016 and 2012 R2. We can help with planning, upgrades, installation or troubleshooting. Our team is adept at handling a variety of virtual server issues that stem from poor configuration, network bottlenecks or storage challenges. SDCOE provides basic monitoring of the health and utilization of all data circuits connecting districts and charter schools to our K12HSN node at no charge. Additional monitoring of devices, services and connections within a district or charter is available for a nominal fee.​

We can help reduce downtime in your environment. In our unique position serving the local K12 community, we will readily see system-wide trends and ​anomalies as part of our monitoring and alert you to potential impact.

SDCOE periodically updates systems and services for the K-12 community. We strive for the highest possible availability of these services. Yet, disruptive patches, upgrades, and hardware maintenance is sometimes necessary.

Accordingly, we have scheduled a series of maintenance periods on a predictable cadence. Our network and data center staff will perform routine maintenance activities during these windows. Maintenance windows for the 2021-22 school year have not yet been determined.

​​​SDCOE provides districts general desktop and laptop computer maintenance services. These include installation, repairs, warranty coordination with vendors and software installation. Services are billed at hourly rates. Discounted rates are available for projects spanning multiple days. Districts and charter schools are responsible for all required licensing.

​​​​We also can assist with the deployment of new routers, switches, wireless systems, and servers. Services are billed at hourly rates.
