Meet the Board

Alicia Muñoz was elected to the board in 2014. She represents District 3, which includes most of the southeastern portions of the county.

Muñoz retired from Cuyamaca College in 2023 after 25 years of service. During her tenure at Cuyamaca College, she served as an English as a Second Language (ESL) professor, ESL department chair, Academic Senate President, Academic Dean, and Interim Vice President of Instruction. She has a master’s degree in English from San Francisco State University and a bachelor’s in comparative literature from UC Berkley.

She grew up in Los Angeles and lived in the San Francisco Bay Area before moving to San Diego.
