7th Annual Careers In Public Service
Service Above Self: March 1 - 17
Join the San Diego County Office of Education and its partners for two and a half weeks of virtual and in-person student activities featuring the many rewarding careers in public service.
This event is for San Diego County students and educators in grades 7 through 12. The times will vary each day and there is no cost to attend.
Where:
Online and in person. Event Day will be at Southwestern College - Otay Mesa (8100 Gigantic St, San Diego 92154).
When:
March 1-17. Times will vary day;
In person Event Day will be March 8 from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Who:
Students and educators, grades 7 - 12.

About the Event
This event provides students the opportunity to explore in-demand careers in public service, from law enforcement and emergency response to public health and human services.
Here's what to expect...
- Two and a half weeks of activities including: an in-person half-day conference and in-person and virtual tours, classroom speakers, job shadows, open houses and more!
- Engaging speakers from 30+ agencies
- Networking session featuring public service vehicles, equipment, tools, and weapons
- K-9 demonstration

ARMY INTELLIGENCE CAREERS VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE - March 16, 3:30-4:30 pm
The open house will feature the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, a multi-service school for active and reserve components, foreign military students, and civilian personnel working in the federal government and law enforcement. The agenda will include a virtual tour, an overview of the careers in Army Intelligence (drone pilots, intelligence analysts, human intelligence collectors, signal intelligence, voice interceptors, and more), and the training and education requirements.
