The California Conservation Corps (CCC), a department of state government's Resources Agency, is a workforce development program in environmental conservation, fire protection, land maintenance, and emergency response to natural disasters. “Sheet metal” refers to any metal that can be formed into flat pieces. Sheet metal workers cut, roll, bend, and shape these pieces to make a wide variety of objects such as ductwork, airplane wings, car bodies, refrigeration units, medical tables, storage units, building facades, and signs. Their apprenticeship includes 1000 hours of training and work on job sites.
