Overview: Framework Themes and Questions

The History-Social Science Framework organizes content around themes and questions. The overarching questions and units and unit-level questions have been separated by grade level and can be downloaded here.

Appendix B describes the importance of this approach in the classroom and identifies seven themes that cut across time and space. Additionally, each grade-level chapter includes guiding questions that may be studied over a longer period of time, as well as questions that focus on the unit or lesson level.
