This list is to be used when applying for a ROTC or Basic Military Drill credential. If you are interested in one of the other subjects available on the Special Subject credential, please call our office at 858-292-3507.

- CTC Credential Application (PDF)
- Note: Do NOT forward date the 41-4.
- Either wet signature OR approved Adobe and DocuSign electronic signatures are accepted.
- Temporary County Certificate Application
- Only for teachers at public school districts; contact your employer to obtain the correct form for your county of employment.

- U.S. Constitution (The commission does not accept SDCOE certificates of completion, you must request official transcripts from UMass Global, to be emailed directly to Nancy Mora (Credentials Technician) at nancy.mora@sdcoe.net

Step 3
Turn in all documentation to your employer's Human Resources Credential Technician. They will mail the packet to our Credentials Office for processing.
DO NOT SCAN AND EMAIL APPLICATIONS. SDCOE CANNOT ACCEPT SCANNED APPLICATIONS DUE TO THE SENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION.

Collect all application materials. Apply early; the usual processing time is about four weeks after our office receives your application. We cannot expedite applications.

- Adult Education
Adult Education programs offer their communities both state-supported general education courses and community education fee-based classes.
- Career Technical Education
Career Technical Education is one of the fastest-growing areas of education. These courses prepare students, from middle school to adult, for specific trades in 15 industry sectors. Teachers pursuing a CTE credential come directly from those industry areas.
- Special Subjects
The Special Subjects Credential authorizes teaching in programs such as Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), Driver Education, and Aviation. These programs are not offered in all districts, and credential requirements and necessary experience are very specific.
