SDCOE offers units for Teacher Induction through partnerships with CSUSM, University of Massachusetts Global, USD, Point Loma, and University of the Pacific. Please check with your district to determine if they will accept these units / credits for salary advancement!
CSUSM (3 units, $297)
- Registration deadline is early May of the current year.
- A Mentor is qualified to receive 3 units per year no matter how many candidates they support and they are only eligible to receive credit for supporting for up to two times (year 1, year 2).
- In total, participants can potentially earn 12 units of credit.
- 3 units their first year of teacher induction
- 3 units their second year of teacher induction
- 3 units of their first year being a mentor
- 3 units of their second year being a mentor
University of Massachusetts Global (4 units, $200)
- Registration deadline is early May of the current year.
- Mentors can only apply for units one year at a time, maximum of two years of being a mentor
- The credits are not based on how many teacher candidates the mentor has in their caseload
- You do not need to submit a letter of verification with your registration.
- For Induction work completed in prior years, starting with the 2013/2014 academic year, please complete the Retroactive Induction Registration form instead of using the online process.
University of San Diego (4 units, $300)
- Registration deadline is early May of the current year.
- Mentors can only apply for units one year at a time, maximum of two years of being a mentor
Point Loma Nazarene University (PT and SP 3 units, $225)

- Credits are graduate level and applicable to a PLNU master's degree
University of the Pacific (PT = 8 units, $400) (SP=4 units, $200)

- Once Courses4Teachers receives confirmation of completing the year from SDCOE's Teacher Induction Program, registration will be processed.

Alliant University (Tuition savings can be applied to credentials and degree programs)

California Baptist University (Units can only be applied to Master programs, this is not for payscale advancement)

- Candidates can receive up to 12 graduate credits for transfer depending on program choice. Transfer is allowed into the following programs: Master of Science in Education Specialization in Teaching and Master of Science in Education Specialization in Special Education.

- Candidates can receive 6-9 graduate credits for transfer depending on program choice. Transfer is allowed into the following programs: Master of Arts in Curriculum & Instruction, Master of Arts in Reading, Master of Arts in Gifted Education, Master of Arts in Autism, Master of Arts in Teaching, Master of Arts in TESOL. Tuition is reduced by 25% for teachers joining our online cohort groups. Complete in as little as one year, 100% online.
National University (tuition discounts can be applied to bachelor’s and master’s degree programs)

The San Diego County Office of Education, districts and program participants Tuition Reduction Scholarship is a great benefit for working adults who want to reach specific educational goals, but find it challenging to fit classes into their busy life. - New Teacher Induction Credit Waiver. This program waives 13 credits fee towards our MAED Curriculum and Instruction when a candidate completes a two-year California-approved induction program.
- CTEL / Endorsement Credit Waiver. This program waives 9 credits for the successful completion of CTEL / CLAD courses or the candidate currently holds an Endorsement (from another state) towards our MAED Curriculum and Instruction.
Vanguard University (Continuing Education courses and are designed to provide salary advancement units.)
The Vanguard University Teacher Advancement Program (TAP), in partnership with College Credit Connection (CCC), offers continuing education courses in a wide variety of instructional formats to help teachers increase their skills and effectiveness in the classroom. These graduate level courses are designed to provide salary advancement units, and are available to teachers who hold a bachelor's degree. These courses are affordable and delivered online, or through face-to-face settings in locations throughout Southern California.

The CCTC-approved San Diego County Office of Education Teacher Induction Program provides the Early Completion Option (ECO) to all qualifying program participants. All Teacher Induction candidates enrolled in the program are apprised of the opportunity to apply for this option. This option is intended to serve experienced and exceptional candidates.
