The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) offers leadership, support, and information to educators and staff in school districts countywide. SDCOE also provides instructional resources to schools and colleges through contracting services.

CaliforniaStreaming is a valuable resource for educators to enhance instruction with engaging online content vetted and curated by the California County Education Technology Consortium. A virtual library of educational resources is available at school and at home for teachers and students at sites contracting for services.

Everyone a Reader Program

Make a difference in a child's life by volunteering just one hour a week.

Share your love of reading by becoming an Everyone A Reader volunteer. You can become a tutor who helps 1st-, 2nd-, or 3rd-grade students reach their reading potential.

To participate, volunteers attend a free, two-hour orientation session and are paired with a participating school near their work or home. Students are identified by their teacher to receive one-to-one reading support.

Join more than 150 schools, 2,000 tutors, and 3,000 students across San Diego County in the Everyone A Reader program! Email Cynthia Craft for additional information on tutoring or starting the Everyone A Reader Program at your school.

Instructional Media Resource Associate Certification

Expand your skills and elevate your expertise with the Instructional Media Resource Associate (IMRA) Certification.

Developed by SDCOE for K-12 school library staff, the IMRA course is one of the few professional learning opportunities for library technicians and related classified staff members.

The IMRA course can be customized for a district or county office cohort.

Course Information

IMRA

The eight-week IMRA online course of study provides a learning context that interests, excites, and challenges participants to enhance their library media service practices. Our goal is to empower you in your 21st-century library to support student achievement. In the course, participants will examine school library and state standards, digital citizenship, information literacy, and technology tools.

Archived Webcasts

Community Colleges Learning Resources Consortium

Members of the San Diego and Imperial Counties Community Colleges Learning Resources Consortium (SDICCCLRC) share audiovisual services and maintain a single collection of their individually owned educational media in a common repository accessible to all parties, and housed with SDCOE Library Media Services. Meetings are held in the fall and spring facilitated by SDCOE.
