Suspension and Expulsion

Resources and support for district administrators

District administrators can contact the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) to ask technical questions regarding potential suspensions / expulsions in order to ensure due process and legal mandates have been achieved prior to proceeding with an expulsion process. These consultations are meant to help administrators avoid losing expulsion appeals and serve as an opportunity to review important steps in the process, such as ensuring appropriate other means of correction have been assigned and students' due process during readmission after the expulsion period has ended. SDCOE also provides assistance with writing rehabilitation plans.
