University Credit

SDCOE offers units for Teacher Induction through partnerships with –

CSUSM, Brandman, Point Loma and University of the Pacific 

IMPORTANT: Please check with your district to determine if they will accept these units/credits for salary advancement!

CSUSM (3 units, $297)

  • Registration deadline is early May of the current year.
  • A support Provider is qualified to receive 3 units per year no matter how many people they support and they are only eligible to receive credit for supporting for up to two times (year 1, year 2).
  • In total, participants can potentially earn 12 units of credit.
    • 3 units their first year of beginning teachers
    • 3 units their second year of beginning teachers
    • 3 units of their first year being a support teacher
    • 3 units of their second year being a support teacher

Brandman University (4 units, $200)

  • Registration deadline is early May of the current year.
  • Support Providers can only apply for credits one year at a time at the maximum of two years of being a Support Provider
  • The credits are not based on how many participating teachers the support provider has in their caseload
  • You do not need to submit a letter of verification with your registration.

Point Loma Nazarene University (PT and SP 3 units, $225)

University of the Pacific (PT = 8 units, $400) (SP=4 units, $200)

  • Continuous open registration: http://www.courses4teachers.net/san-diego-coe-consortium/
  • Once Courses4Teachers receives confirmation of completing the year from SDCOE's Teacher Induction Program, registration will be processed.
  • You do not need to submit a letter of verification with your registration.

 Grand Canyon University (Units can only be applied to Master programs, this is not for payscale advancement)

  • Candidates can receive 6-9 graduate credits for transfer depending on program choice.  Transfer is allowed into the following programs: Master of Arts in Curriculum & Instruction, Master of Arts in Reading, Master of Arts in Gifted Education, Master of Arts in Autism, Master of Arts in Teaching, Master of Arts in TESOL.Tuition is reduced by 25% for teachers joining our online cohort groups. Complete in as little as one year, 100% online.

California Baptist University (Units can only be applied to Master programs, this is not for payscale advancement)

  • Candidates can receive up to 12 graduate credits for transfer depending on program choice. Transfer is allowed into the following programs: Master of Science in Education Specialization in Teaching and Master of Science in Education Specialization in Special Education.
