Assessment, Measurement, and Accountability

The primary mission of Juvenile Court and Community Schools' (JCCS) Assessment and Accountability department is to coordinate and implement state-mandated testing programs and collect and analyze student performance data to inform instructional decision-making and support student achievement. The unit also prepares annual accountability reports for the San Diego County Board of Education and the California State Board of Education.

The Assessment and Accountability unit is actively involved in ongoing training and capacity building for JCCS teachers, administrators, and support staff in the area of testing and assessment. Department staff regularly presents at professional conferences and participates in county and state level workgroups and committees dealing with Alternative Schools Accountability Model (ASAM) development and implementation, and SB-1095 program evaluation. The unit routinely provides academic and student performance data to instructional and teacher leaders for program improvement, preparation of grant proposals, and other reports
