The Data Visualization Network was established in June 2016 because of a growing need among district and school leaders to develop more efficient ways to make sense of, and clearly communicate, data related to district and school initiatives. Important stories live within complex datasets and data visualization is a powerful means to discover and understand these stories. Data visualization is also an ideal means to communicate these stories to a variety of stakeholders within the educational community and community at large.
Data Visualization Network meetings are held regularly to:
Provide a forum for participants to explore and exchange promising practices in the visual representation of data to clearly and efficiently communicate to users; and
Support district and school leaders who are responsible for compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting data for the purposes of program evaluation, organizational improvement, communicating with stakeholders, and accountability.
Meetings are held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the San Diego County Office of Education, 6401 Linda Vista Road, San Diego, CA 92111.
