Breakout 1: Powerful Next Steps for Primary Guided Reading

This presentation explores the principles of emergent and early guided reading that make instruction powerful for children in the primary grades. Topics include prompting for strategic processing, guided writing, and word study. Learn how an integrated guided reading lesson can help every child become a better reader. 

Breakout 2: Powerful Next Steps for Intermediate Guided Reading

Although comprehension is the goal of every guided reading lesson, it takes center stage for transitional and fluent readers. Learn how to teach important comprehension strategies and how to scaffold students so they become engaged readers who think at deeper levels.
