Inspiring and leading innovation in education

Share the magic of reading through the Everyone a Reader volunteer program

Everyone A Reader Volunteer Program

Make a difference in a child's life by volunteering just one hour a week.

Share your love of reading by becoming an Everyone A Reader (EAR) volunteer. You can become a tutor who helps a 1st-, 2nd-, or 3rd-grade student reach their reading potential.

To participate, volunteers attend a two-hour training session and are paired with a participating school near their work or home. Students are identified by their teacher to receive the one-to-one reading support.

Email Cindy Dunlevy to sign up for an upcoming training session.

For Schools

The Everyone A Reader Volunteer Program teaches parents and other volunteers to work one-to-one with developing readers in grades 1 to 3.

To participate in the Everyone A Reader Program a school must have a site coordinator who attend a one day workshop and manages the program at the school site.

The Site Coordinator Training will provide the information needed to:

  • Manage the program
  • Recruit and train parents and volunteers
  • Level books
  • Place students and monitor their progress
Email Cindy Dunlevy to sign up for an upcoming training session.
