Share the magic of reading through the Everyone a Reader volunteer program

Everyone A Reader Volunteer Program

Make a difference in a child's life by volunteering just one hour a week.

Share your love of reading by becoming an Everyone A Reader (EAR) volunteer. You can become a tutor who helps a 1st-, 2nd-, or 3rd-grade student reach their reading potential.

To participate, volunteers attend a two-hour orientation session and are paired with a participating school near their work or home. Students are identified by their teacher to receive the one-to-one reading support.

Email Cindy Dunlevy to sign up for an upcoming tutor orientation, or attend one from the schedule:

For Schools

The Everyone A Reader Volunteer Program teaches parents and other volunteers to work one-to-one with developing readers in grades 1 to 3.

To participate in the Everyone A Reader Program a school must have a site coordinator who attends a one day workshop and manages the program at the school site.

The Site Coordinator Training will provide the information needed to:

  • Manage the program
  • Recruit and train parents and volunteers
  • Organize books and access program materials
  • Place students and monitor their progress
Please join us on October 10, 2018, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm to learn how to start this supportive reading program at your school.
