20th annual leadership in biliteracy symposium; promote and honor the biliteracy leaders in your district or charter school

Thank you for joining us as we honored your biliteracy leaders at the 20th annual SDCOE Leadership in Biliteracy Symposium.

The event featured Brandon Brizuela, college student and past recipient of the Bea Gonzales Biliteracy Scholarship, and Mónica Nava, the Region 9 senior director of Migrant Education at the SDCOE and this year’s recipient of the Bea Gonzales Leadership in Biliteracy award.

ABC 10 News Meteorologist Angelica Campos shared her powerful story of being a bilingual first-generation American via video message, and a student mariachi band entertained the audience with their musical talents.
