ITV Offers Special ‘Math Power Hour’ Jan. 28-Feb. 6 To Prep Students for High School Exit Exam

ITV Ch. 16 will offer a special "Math Power Hour" every afternoon January 28 through February 6, the last week before the California High School Exit Exam is next given. Go to for more resources!

The English Language Arts portion of the exit exam will be given Feb. 5, the math portion Feb. 6. Included in the daily, 4:00-5:00 p.m. 'Power Hour will be the debut of ITV's new "Math 2 Success," a fast-paced, 30-minute show covering math vocabulary, test-taking tips, sample problems, and interviews with a variety of professionals who talk about how math is used in their jobs.

Also featured in "Math Power Hour" will be segments from the popular Standard Deviants series, including "The Pumped-Up World of Pre-Algebra," "The Many-Sided World of Geometry," and "The Adventurous World of Algebra."

The idea for "Math Power Hour" came from ITV Executive Producer Doug Gilmore. "The reason we're doing the Math Power Hour is we recognize kids need to prepare for the CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exam), and this is a great opportunity to do that, to gain a better understanding of math concepts. It's like a CAHSEE performance enhancer."
