Monarch School and the San Diego County Office of Education
are one of three top finalists for a business award recognizing successful
The Fermanian Business & Economic Institute's Annual
Dealmakers of the Year Awards honor unique individuals, firms, and
collaborations that exemplify creativity, innovation, and ethical practices
that create long term value for the San Diego region.
The winners in each category will be announced April 10 at a
breakfast event at Liberty Station Conference Center.
Monarch School is a K-12 public school serving the needs of children impacted by homelessness. The only school of its kind in the county, Monarch is a unique public-private partnership between the San Diego County Office of Education’s Juvenile Court and Community Schools and the nonprofit Monarch School Project, a 501(c)3 organization; the County Office provides teachers and an accredited education, and the Project supplements this program through academic and enrichment programs including an after school program, expressive arts therapy, and counseling.
